Carrie Underwood Shows Off Her Thanksgiving Spread: 'I Cooked For 2 Days'

Even though Carrie Underwood's Thanksgiving was smaller than usual this year, she still spent some serious time in the kitchen cooking.

Ahead of the holiday, the country star shared several snapshots of dishes she prepared making their way into the oven on her Instagram Story. She also posted a video to her Instagram feed on Thursday (November 26) to show fans how everything turned out.

"I cooked for 2 days. It was over in 20 minutes!" she captioned the clip set to Eric Carmen's "Hungry Eyes." She continued, "Couldn’t be with the fam this year, but we feasted nonetheless! I worked hard and our bellies are stuffed!"

She also gave a special shoutout to family friend Jay Cutler, for providing the turkey, even though Underwood didn't try it herself. "Shoutout to @ifjayhadinstagram for the turkey, which I did not try (I’m a Tofurky kind of girl) but was told it was delicious!" she wrote. "Happy Thanksgiving everyone! ❤️❤️❤️"

Cutler also posted a similar video on his own Instagram page, writing, "We had it all. And when I say we, I mean @carrieunderwood and @mfisher1212. I watched a large turkey cook in a vat of oil. Carrie and Mike had enough for 20 people. Hope everyone had a great Turkey day."

Underwood's husband, Mike Fisher, commented, "Man that was a lot of food for 8 masked people."

Underwood is helping everyone get in the holiday spirit this year with the release of her first-ever Christmas album, My Gift.

The new project is made up of original songs along with several holiday classics like "O Come, All Ye Faithful," "Silent Night," and "O Holy Night." Underwood's 5-year-old son, Isaiah, also appears on the album for a special rendition of "Little Drummer Boy."

"I started working on this album last fall and recorded it in the spring … so I've literally been living with Christmas music for a year now!" Underwood told People earlier this month. "I hope the album will be a soundtrack for people as they prepare for and celebrate Christmas. That would make me happy."

Underwood will bring songs from My Gift to her upcoming HBO Max holiday special airing on December 3. My Gift: A Christmas Special From Carrie Underwood will feature the country star performing traditional Christmas classics, along with several new songs from her new album. She will be accompanied by her band, as well as a live orchestra and choir, conducted by her longtime friend, Emmy Award-winning musical director Rickey Minor.

"I’m thrilled to be collaborating with Playtone and HBO Max to bring My Gift to life," Underwood said in a statement. "Just like the album, I hope this special will help bring some much-needed joy and become part of the soundtrack to people’s holiday festivities this year as it streams throughout the season and beyond."
