In a horrible accident this week, a 75-year-old lost control of her Mercedes SUV and crashed into the ER entrance of Piedmont hospital in Midtown Atlanta, GA.
New surveillance footage shows how the terrible accident occurred and how scary the situation was. One person was killed and several injured, when Mary Clayton, 75, went to Piedmont Hospital for her appointment. She is trying to maneuver in a new area of the hospital, when her car smashes into another SUV, that is loading a patient. Then continues to push the vehicle out of the way, before smashing into the er entrance. She only cam to a stop when she hit a wall inside the hospital.
People can be seen running out of the way and trying to dodge the out-of-control SUV. She narrowly missed two people who owned the damaged SUV and a nurse and patient, who where trying to get in the vehicle. On the internal camera, about 5 or 6 people attempt to dodge the speeding car, one woman can be scene injured the entrance of the ER, in the aftermath.
Investigation by Atlanta Police says the was "not a deliberate act" and no files have been charged. What a horrible tragedy.
