Montgomery Gentry's coming out with a new EP called Outskirts nearly two years after the death of Troy Gentry. The seven-track project drops June 14, while lead single "King of the World," featuring Steve Vai, arrived Saturday on YouTube. "'King of the World’ is the way I want to live my life when I grow up,” Eddie Montgomery says. “When I found out that guitar god Steve Vai was into it…that made it the s**t. Wow, still can’t believe Steve Vai is playing on one of my songs!" MusicRow notes that the project was recorded shortly before Gentry's death in September 2017 and features contributions from Nashville songwriters Ashley Gorley, Darrell Scott, Dallas Davidson, and Rodney Clawson.
