QUICK LOOK

Fresno State opens Mountain West play at Hawai'i

Fresno State looks for its first win over Hawai'i since 2022, and first on the Island since 2019

Since joining the conference in 2012, the Bulldogs are 8-5 in Mountain West openers. The Bulldogs have won three of their last six openers, all consecutive.

When talking conference openers, the Bulldogs are 3-4 since 2012 when their MW opener is on the road.

The 2025 season is the last season as a member of the Mountain West for the Bulldogs. Fresno State is set to join the Pac-12 in 2026, an announcement that was made last year.

Fresno State has been a member of the Mountain West since 2012, and has won four conference titles since then – the second-most in the conference behind Boise State (5). Fresno State has a 61-40 all-time Mountain West only record, and has been below .500 in conference play just three times since joining the league.

The Bulldogs hired Matt Entz as head coach in December 2024. He became Fresno State's fourth head coach in five years (& fifth if you count the one-week stint when the program was led by Interim Head Coach Lee Marks for the 2021 New Mexico Bowl after Kalen DeBoer departed for Washington).

Fresno State defeated Southern University 56-7 last weekend, it was its most points scored in a game since 2021 and its fewest allowed since a shutout victory over New Mexico State last season

Fresno State moves to 3-1 on the season for the second year in a row

Fresno State has had 16 first time starters through four games this season, including two last week in WR Jayon Farrar and DB Ryan Wilson

Fresno State had four players score their first career touchdown against Southern

QB E.J. Warner threw his first touchdown passes of the season, connecting with four different receivers for the scores. It was the most receivers with a touchdown for the Bulldogs since 2023

On Saturday, Warner went 20-for-24 (83.3%) with a conference season-high four touchdown passes. Warner is the only FBS quarterback this season to have a game with at least 20 completions, four TD passes and such a high completion percentage.

Warner is the active career FBS leader in career passing yards, pass attempts, and pass completions. His 62 career passing touchdown ranks 3rd all-time among active FBS quarterbacks

RB Rayshon Luke has the third-most rushing touchdowns (5) in the FBS and the most in the Mountain West. He has six total tochdowns on the year, ranking second in the FBS and leading the conference

Defensively, senior linebacker Jadon Pearson is third in the FBS with 35 tackles this season. He leads the Mountain West

Senior defensive back Al'zillion Hamilton is one of the most experienced defensive backs in the country, checking in at second among all active FBS players with 31 career passes defended.
