FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State senior long snapper Wesley Brown has been named to the 2025 Patrick Mannelly Award watch list, as announced by the organization on Monday evening. The award is presented to the best long snapper in the FBS.
Brown is one of 30 long snappers on the preseason watch list, and one of two from the Mountain West. Brown is the first Bulldog since Jacob Westberry in 2021 to be recognized by the organization.
The senior Bulldog enters his second season with Fresno State, but fifth in college football. He began his collegiate career at San Mateo Junior College (2021-22) and transferred to Cal for the 2023 season. Last year, his first year at Fresno State, Brown was the primary long snapper in all 13 games.
The award, created in 2019, benefits Bernie's Book Bank, a non-profit organization located in Lake Bluff, Illinois. Ten semi-finalists will be announced on November 17, 2025. Those names will be narrowed to three finalists selected on December 1, 2025 and the winner announced at the live award ceremony in December.
