No. 6 Bulldogs hit the road for Big 12 matchup

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State equestrian team continues Big 12 competition this weekend, traveling to Baylor for a Friday morning matchup.

No. 6 Fresno State (3-1, 0-1 Big 12) at Baylor (0-2, 0-2 Big 12)

Fresno State is back in action after having last week off from competition

Fresno State has spent the last two weeks at No. 6 in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association dual discipline team rankings

The No. 6 ranking is the highest for the Bulldogs since they were the sixth-ranked team in the Nov. 3, 2021 release of the rankings.

The Bulldogs will have their first conference road test this week at Baylor.

Fresno State is 0-1 in Big 12 competition this season, falling to then-No. 3 TCU last time out.

At 3-1 overall on the season, Fresno State is tied for second in the NCEA.Auburn is the only undefeated program left in the country.

Western 'Dogs

Fresno State is 20-14-4 in the western events this season.

Fresno State has six western MOPs on the year.

The Bulldogs are 12-5-2 in the horsemanship.

Senior Kendra Lee leads the horsemanship group with a perfect 4-0-0 mark on the year.

Lee also adds a team-high two MOPs.

Aubrey Gerdes (3-0-0) and Abby Goddard (3-1-0) add three wins each.

Goddard and freshman Hailey Olson own the remaining two horsemanship MOPs.

In the reining, Fresno State is 8-9-2 on the year.

Adrianna Runzo leads the team with a 3-1-0 record and two MOPs.

Brogan Hill hasn't lost a ride yet, coming in this week with a 2-0-2 record.

Jumping Seat 'Dogs

Fresno State is 20-18-0 in its jumping seat events this season.

The Bulldogs have six jumping seat MOP honors on the year.

Fresno State is 12-7-0 in the fences event.

The Bulldogs are coming off of a 4-1-0 win in the fences against No. 3 TCU, their best fences performance of the season.

Freshman Paris Mahoney leads the fences group with a 4-0-0 record, and two MOP honors.

Paloma Primavera and Averey Pritchard each add 3-1-0 record with one MOP a piece.

In the flat, Mahoney leads the group with a 3-1-0 record and one MOP.

Senior Yasmin Roman has a 2-2-0 record with one MOP.

Quick look at Baylor

Baylor is 0-2 on the year with Big 12 losses to Oklahoma State and TCU.

Baylor was not ranked in this week's NCEA dual discipline team rankings.

Friday will be the Bears' first home meet of the season.
