What I Watched this Weekend: 'I Am Not Okay With This' and 'Good Girls'

As we practice social distancing, I figured I'd keep you updated on new things I've watched.

First up was a new Netflix series called I Am Not Okay With This. I knew very little about this series going in, but I saw that it has the same producers as Stranger Things which is one of my absolute favorites so I just went for it. It was definitely a slow build, but a quick watch. Seven 20-something minute episodes. High schooler Syd starts realizing that a power is building inside her. Each episode we see a little of that power break through, but most of the first season is about Syd trying to navigate friendships and relationships.

Rating: 2.5/5 - it was not my favorite series ever however the characters were endearing, and with the way season 1 ended, I would watch season 2 just to see what happens.

The other thing I finished watching this weekend was Season 2 of Good Girls. This is an NBC show but I typically watch on Netflix. It has suchhh a good cast, the main trio of ladies are Christina Hendrix (Mad Men), Retta (Parks and Recreation) and Mae Whitman (Arrested Development). This is a great show for me because there is suspense and action, but its not over the top, very middle the road. I can't handle shows that are TOO dark, this one is a good balance of the drama and getting to know the characters. If you haven't heard of this show, 3 housewives stray from their normal lives to some shady activity. The ending of season 2 definitely left me dying to know what's gonna happen next!

Rating: 4/5 as a series, great cast, great character development and intensifying stakes in season 2
