Fresno Police Officer adopts dog he rescued from abuse

Fresno Police Officer Joshua Weskamp is a proud new dog dad... he just adopted a tiny puppy named LEO, who he rescued from an abusive owner in December. The name LEO stands for Law Enforcement Officer!

When he responded to the call about dog abuse in December, Weskamp says "This was my first call with something like that. We go to a lot of calls, violent crimes. But puppies are a different thing."

After the officers surrendered the puppy to the SPCA, Officer Weskamp returned many times to check in on the puppy. He said because the puppy was essentially evidence, and needed to get healthy and strong, he had to wait to adopt him, but the day finally came!! Check out the sweet photos of Officer Weskamp and LEO below
