The Firefighters Burn Institute hosts their 25th annual "Fill the Boot for Burns" donation drive February 7-10! Volunteer Firefighters will take the streets of Citrus Heights at the corner of Sunrise boulevard and Greenback lane to collect as much money as possible! The Firefighters Burn Institute raises donations to improve burn treatment and to fund life-altering burn recovery programs, including Firefighters Kids Camp for young burn survivors and the Little Heroes Preschool Burn Camp .
In addition to firefighters collecting money in their boots, the annual safety fair will be on Saturday February 9 from 11 AM - 2 PM in the Sunrise Mall parking lot near US Bank. And I can't forget my favorite part... the media challenge! Local media representatives take part in a friendly competition to see who can raise the most money by hitting the streets for 30 minutes! I can't wait to take part in the media challenge for the second year.
