Seattle has always been one of my favorite cities. I was born on an island in Alaska, so I love the ocean and I don't mind the rain or cold. But I'd definitely want to visit the new Space Needle on clear beautiful day! That way you get the best view THROUGH THE FLOOR. Oh yeah, it also REVOLVES.
Last November I was in Seattle (seeing Halsey, I love her!) and my friend and I noticed the bottom of the Space Needle was all boarded up and we wondered what was up. Now it all makes sense...
That's right - the Space Needle debuted it's fresh renovations, including a new all-glass base.
I absolutely LOVE heights so I'm all about this, but I can see how some would get nervous.
The perfect Seattle touristy trip... Hit Pike Place for some food, ride the giant glass Great Wheel for a great view of Seattle over the water, head to the gorgeous Chihuly Glass Garden, then straight up the Space Needle for more vies!!! Literally my the definition of my perfect day. I can't wait to get back to Seattle and check this out!!!
Fun Fact - my mom was actually in Seattle for the debut of the Space Needle during the World Fair in 1962! She was one of the first people to ever get to go up to the top. I wonder if she would go back up with me now!
