Priscilla Block couldn’t help but feel intimidated when she teamed up with Justin Moore on the smoldering duet, “You, Me, And Whiskey.” Her nervousness grew once she realized Moore’s previous duet partner was powerhouse country artist Miranda Lambert.

Still, Moore knew an unexpected story that would put Block at ease.

“Well, when I went into the studio that day, your producer was like, ‘The only other female duet that Justin‘s done was with Miranda,’” Block recalled, per Moore’s record label. She was referring to “Old Habits,” which Moore and Lambert sang on his Off The Beaten Path album. “And so I’m walking in there, and I’m like, ‘oh my God!’ Like, no pressure at all, you know? I was just hoping that I’m gonna hit the right notes. But it was so funny, he told me the story about how when Miranda came in, she had like a baby kangaroo in her purse.”

“You, Me, And Whiskey” is one of Moore’s latest songs to release as he readies his next studio album, Stray Dog, which is due on May 5. He said last month, when he announced his album: “A long time ago I decided I wasn’t going to play games or pursue things that didn’t make me happy, perhaps that’s made me a bit of an outsider in this industry, but it’s also what allows me to go to bed each night feeling good about what I’m doing. I’ve never just gone along with the crowd. I’ve always tried to follow my heart and let the chips fall where they may, and I’m really proud of that. I’m excited to announce that my upcoming album, Stray Dog, embodies that same mantra. …It’s a really personal, autobiographical song that gives an insight into myself and the project as a whole.”

Moore is part of the all-star iHeartCountry Festival lineup on May 13, at Moody Center in Austin, Texas. Fans across the country will able to tune in to all of the incredible live performances at this year's iHeartCountry Festival as the event will be broadcast on iHeartRadio country stations nationwide, and on iHeartRadio.com as well as the iHeartRadio app on Saturday, May 13th at 8pm ET/5pm PT.
