Thomas Rhett hit the stage on Night 1 of our 2020 iHeartRadio Music Festival and gave fans the performance of a lifetime!
Taking the stage in Nashville, TR performed seven of his biggest songs including opening his set with “Look What God Gave Her” before transitioning into “Life Changes.”
Throughout his whole set, TR had it feeling like a true country concert when he made sure to engage with fans at home asking them to sing and dance along — and that's exactly what we did!
The 30-year-old country singer kept us feeling optimistic in these tough times as he performed his newest release, “Be A Light” and it'll be sure to give you chills.
Thomas Rhett spoke to Amy from The Bobby Bones Show before his performance about “Be A Light” and how much it meant to him to release the track during a global pandemic.
“This song just sort of raised its hand as one of those things that we can really make an impact in a direct way and actually get to watch it happen.” he explained. “We teamed up with MusiCares and I donated all my royalties of this song to them just in hopes that I might help certain people within Nashville or wherever they may be.”
In addition to the uplifting song, TR turned things up a notch and performed “Crash and Burn” and even brought out his friend, and fellow country star, Jon Pardi for their massive hit, “Beer Can't Fix.”
To close out his set, the dad of three kept the energy super high and left fans with his two biggest hits, “Die A Happy Man” and “T-Shirt.”
Just earlier this week, Thomas Rhett won the coveted Entertainer of the Year honor at the Academy of Country Music Awards with Carrie Underwood in a historic tie. He recently told Elvis Duran of the big win with Underwood, "I’ll take a half for sure, that was unbelievable. Winning that with Carrie is absolutely nuts and doing it with someone that I have literally looked up to since i was 15 16 years old."
In case you missed it, or just want to re-live all of the epic performances from this year’s iHeartRadio Music Festival, tune in to the two-night highlights special on The CW on September 27 and 28 from 8-10pm ET/PT.
