Kacey Musgraves And Ruston Kelly Reach Divorce Settlement

Kacey Musgraves and Ruston Kelly are a step closer to finalizing their divorce. On Wednesday (September 16), TMZ reported that the couple has reached a settlement in their divorce.

As part of the agreement, Musgraves and Kelly will put their home on the market. When it sells, the "Slow Burn" singer will get 84.4% of the proceeds and Kelly will get the rest. The two also agreed to enforce their prenuptial agreement, which will determine how most things are split up. Once the judge signs off on the final divorce decree, they will officially go their separate ways.

Musgraves and Kelly announced their separation in July after nearly three years of marriage.

"With heavy but hopeful hearts we wanted to put our own thoughts into the air about what’s happening," they wrote in a joint statement. "These kinds of announcements are always met with scrutiny and speculation and we want to stop that before it even starts."

"We believe that we were put into each other’s lives for a divine reason and have both changed each other infinitely for the better," they continue. "The love we have for each other goes far beyond the relationship we’ve shared as husband and wife. It’s a soul connection that can never be erased."

The singers continued on to note that the decision was made together and that they will "remain true friends" forever.

"We’ve made this painful decision together -- a healthy decision that comes after a very long period of trying the best we can. It simply just didn’t work," they said. "Though we are parting ways in marriage, we will remain true friends for the rest of our lives. We hold no blame, anger, or contempt for each other and we ask for privacy and positive wishes for us both as we learn how to navigate through this."

Musgraves and Kelly met in early 2016 while attending a songwriters' showcase in Nashville. They got engaged that year on Christmas Eve and tied the knot the following year in an outdoor Tennessee ceremony.
