While it might seem a little early in the year for some, Dolly Parton is already spreading Christmas cheer!
The country icon's new holiday album, A Holly Dolly Christmas, is due out on October 2 but she's already giving fans a preview of what's to come with the release of "Mary, Did You Know?" Parton shared her take on the classic, faith-filled track on Friday (August 21).
"'Mary, Did You Know?' is one of the greatest, sweetest, well-written songs that I’ve ever had the chance to sing on," Parton says. "When I was recording it, I got very emotional. It is to me what Christmas is about and I’m proud to be able to sing it for my upcoming album."
Take a listen to Parton's "Mary, Did You Know" rendition below.
A Holly Dolly Christmas will feature several special guests, including fellow country music icon, Willie Nelson, who teams up with Parton for a remake of the Christmas classic, "Pretty Paper." Additionally, Miley Cyrus, Michael Bublé, Billy Ray Cyrus, Parton's brother Randy Parton, and Jimmy Fallon are also special guests featured on the album.
"Mary, Did You Know?" is the first song released from the 12-track project. A full track list can be seen below.
