Sheryl Crow celebrated the release of her 11th and final studio album Threads with an exclusive show at the iHeartRadio Theater in Los Angeles on Monday, December 2. The singer/songwriter, who hit the road to tour the album with Heart, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts and Brandi Carlile on the Love Alive Tour, confirmed that while this is her final studio album, she’s nowhere near done recording and releasing music.

Threads follows 2017's Be Myself and showcases 17 songs and covers featuring collaborations with icons including Sting, Rolling Stones' Keith Richards, Joe Walsh, Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks, James Taylor, Willie Nelson and more like Gary Clark Jr., Brandi Carlile, Jason Isbell, Lucius, St. Vincent and Maren Morris.

“My whole journey started when I was very small … I dreamed of being a singer … and here I am many years later and I invited a lot of people who have been inspirational to me,” Sheryl, 57, told #iHeartSherylCrow host Ellen K. during the 30 minute radio and 60 minute YouTube broadcast. “There’s a strong ‘thread’ that goes all the way from [my hometown] Kennett to here.”

The Grammy-award winning icon added that the album also represents the American dream, showcasing her journey from being a young child learning piano to collaborating with some of the biggest names in music, amongst herself.

“In America you dream something and it can actually happen,” she reflected. “I’m constantly telling people be into what you’re doing … and keep going.”

As for Threads being her “final” studio album, Crow explained that she’s moving in the direction of streaming.

“I’m going to keep making music and I always say never say never but most people stream music now and make their own playlists,” she explained of her decision. “I think just being able to put things out immediately is just wonderful.”

The songstress — whose two sons were on hand to help bring her guitars onstage — performed a bevy of tracks including hits “If It Makes You Happy,” “My Favorite Mistake” and new tracks and covers “Prove You Wrong” (featuring Stevie Nicks and Maren Morris), “Tell Me When It’s Over” (featuring Chris Stapleton), and “Everything Is Broken” (featuring Jason Isbell) as well as her self-proclaimed favorite track “Beware of Darkness” (featuring Sting, Eric Clapton and Brandi Carlile).

“He’s been there for the really weird awful moments,” she mentioned of her friendship and collaboration with Sting while referring to her 2006 breast cancer diagnosis. “There’s so many stories like that on the record.”

The songstress concluded the show with the ultimate throwback and crowd favorite “Soak Up the Sun” and teased if you don’t know the jam, you “probably live in a hole.”
